Many people think that choosing a cycling bicycle is simple. Many people just think finding a bike that looks good and is comfortable is all there is to picking the right bike. They're not exactly right about that, though, because there are more things that need to be considered when choosing the perfect cycling bicycle. With cycling becoming more popular in almost every area of life (transportation, lifestyle, sports, hobbies) there are more bicycles than ever to choose from. The basic key to choosing a bicycle is to buy a bicycle that you can sit on and rest your feet flat on the floor so that you can stop yourself. There are some people that say this isn't the best way to choose, though. They say that it is better to give yourself a few inches between your feet and the ground to create a more comfortable cycling experience. The seat will usually sit a little low and too close to the crossbar if you are able to bend your knees while your feet are on the ground and your backside is on the bicycle’s seat. This is because when you are pedaling with this bike, your knees are going to come up too high. You will also need to consider which handlebars you want on your bike. Not all handlebars are web the same. Those handlebars which extend horizontally out offer great control for maneuvering. They are also better for distributing your body weight over a larger area. If you are using your bike for racing, then you want to pick some handlebars that are more slim and allow you to lean forward on your bike so you can go faster. For people who rarely use their bike they will want handlebars which allow the bike to be stored away efficiently, but which also offer some level of comfort when cycling.

You also want to make sure you leave some room between you and the crossbar of your bike. When you choose your bike, adjust the seat up a few inches from the crossbar and then sit on the bike. Make certain you can still place both feet flatly on the ground. Different bikes will need differing clearance amounts. A touring bike for example will require around 1", perhaps slightly more. If you are buying a mountain bike you’ll want more—three inches or so between you and the crossbar. There are a lot of criteria to use when deciding which cycling bicycle is right for you. Do you want to ride your bicycle every day or do you see yourself only riding it once in a while? What height makes you feel the most comfortable? Do you prefer your feet to rest flat on the ground or do you like to have some room between them and the ground when you are sitting on the bicycle’s seat? These are some of the things you need to consider when choosing your bike.
